Amazingly I managed to organize my schedule to get a Firestorm Armada game in! It’s been far too long, and work has kept me far too busy.
Unfortunately I was so excited to actually play that I only used my cellphone camera and didn’t take as many pictures as I like to do. The other downside is that this was a fluke for schedules lining up as a regular scheduled event was cancelled. This means that I’m not sure when the next game will get in.
Anyway – if you’d like to check it out, pictures can be found here as usual : https://www.flickr.com/photos/126632382@N05/sets/72157651739547899/
This army sucks.
Why would you take that model? It’s horrible.
Don’t play that class – it’s pathetic compared to the others.
Sound familiar? I’m willing to bet it does. This language tends to permeate gaming no matter if it’s board gaming, roleplaying, table top battle games or pc/console games.
If there’s one minor complaint I see repeated for Firestorm Armada, it’s the turning template.
It’s pretty basic and easy to use for the most part, but I do see many people complaining about how it either slows the game down too much or how its impossible to fit in between close formation squadrons or terrain. The point about it slowing the game down isn’t everyone’s experience, but almost everyone has experienced the “how do I get the template in there?” moment.
I’ve come up with something that might help.
2 posts in a day? I must be feeling better!
So myself and my girlfriend were out at a somewhat local gaming store (a couple of cities over). We wandered around there for a bit and glossed over the various products that the store in our town didn’t carry. All in all, there was a lot of overlap. One thing did catch my eye though – Malifaux.
Well, as you may have guessed from the title of this post – its been one brutal week.
A friend at my Jiu-Jitsu class was kind enough to introduce me to the flu of a lifetime. I was sick with various projectiles over the last 3 days from this ‘gift’. I’ll spare the grisly details, but suffice it to say – I would not wish this upon my worst enemy.
My girlfriend was awesome with the care she gave me, however she was also getting a cold at the time. So now the flu is cleared, it’s on to the cold I’ve received. Father Nurgle is greatly pleased I’m sure.
On to the gaming side of things!
Hello all – just a quick update today.
I’ve added the Heroes of Tarxon VI – Dindrenzi to the Battlescribe data files. You can find them here : http://battlescribedata.appspot.com/#/repo/firestorm-planetfall
Let me know if there are any issues! I’ll be working on the Terran Heroes next…
First off – a quick definition of what a game agreement is, or at least a definition no-one should have an issue with.
Most games have a level of agreement for what playing that game will contain. You choose a points level to play, or pick a mission type to play, etc… Whatever these agreements are, they are built into the game’s design. Points are clearly needed to balance many games. If you are able to play 1000 points of your chosen game against your friend who has 200 points, clearly its not going to be a fun experience for someone.
